What I’m doing right now and why?

This is my “Socials” page where I share updates about what I’m currently doing right now. I don’t have social media, but I use this page to give readers a glimpse into my daily activities. I’ll update it regularly with new information and projects.

UPDATED 1st June 2024

My family and I have some upcoming travels around Malaysia and Vietnam that I am looking forward to. We have quite an extensive travel schedule for the remainder of the year. We are full time “Global Citizens” and permanently travel as a family. Having residency and citizenship in more than one country is helpful and apart of our long term strategy in the pursuit of Independence.

Right now I am very focused on the active part of my portfolio and spend a lot of time sifting through companies, primarily in the micro-cap and small-cap space. That is where there are hidden gems if you are prepared to do considerable groundwork.

  • Narrowing down a list of 2,400 companies to the top 5% that I will then conduct deep research on.
  • Creating a new “Hunting Ground” from the above list to add some new positions to the portfolio.
  • Shifted away from the NASDAQ, NSE, and TSX and am focused on the ASX.
  • Continue to Dollar Cost into my Retirement Fund and won’t be rebalancing that any time soon.
  • Locked some cash away for 12 Months at 5% as recently sold some Real Estate.

I’m currently working on The Stoic Investors as my main project. It’s something that I’ve been wanting to dedicate more time to. I’m in the process of stepping away from my other responsibilities to focus on this journey.

I don’t have any plans to start a new company in the foreseeable future. I want to take a break from being in charge and don’t miss the daily tasks that come with it. My wife jokingly doubts that I will not start another business.

Right now I’m currently enjoying reading some fascinating books on mental models, behavior, and finance. It’s helping me a lot with investing but more so in other areas of life. I typically cycle through a handful of books each month.
