This part of the website contains useful investment resources to help investors learn, understand, and use various tools. Whether you’re looking to learn about Investing Ratios or use Financial Metrics to conduct Discounted Cash Flow analysis, you’ll find all the details here.
Investment Resources are essential for investors as they help in forming our systems and make the Investing Process easier to maintain over a long period. I often come back to this part of my blog to relearn and brush up on certain areas.
As time progresses, I will add areas such as my book reviews and downloadable PDFs like thesis and checklist templates. This segment will continue to evolve as I discover more resources that are useful. Everything included here is what I personally use. There might be some missing areas, but it’s either because I haven’t discovered them yet or they aren’t relevant to my needs.
There are calculators such as the Long-Term Compounding calculator, and I’m working on others such as a DCF calculator and a Weighted Average Cost of Capital Calculator. Although they may not be as accurate as in-depth analysis, sometimes a quick “Back of the envelope” formula can help paint a clearer picture of whether I want to research further. The calculators help me do just that.
Please feel free to navigate, learn, and suggest any additional resources that you think would be worth adding to this collection.
β Investment Ratios
The Investment Ratio page provides simplified explanations of each ratio, including their formulas and usage. It is intended as a guide for understanding the role each ratio plays in analysing and valuing businesses based on multiples, rather than as an in-depth analysis of each one. It helps you identify what to look for in your analysis.
π’ Financial Calculations
The Financial Calculations page offers various essential metrics, such as the WACC and CAPM models, along with other significant portfolio return calculations. These metrics play a crucial role, and it’s important for investors to understand what each does and how to implement them, regardless of whether they use them or not. I myself frequently revisit this page for reference.
π§Ύ Financial Statements
The financial statements are an essential part of an investor’s ability to analyse, research, and find profitable companies. Initially, I didn’t give much importance to reading, interpreting, and understanding financial statements during my investment journey. However, as time passed, I learned how to read the three statements and how the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statement integrate, taking my analysis to the next level. By looking for financial discrepancies, hidden gems, reading annual reports, and studying the areas where the vast majority of investors don’t, I improved my investment strategy for the better.
π My Tools & Websites
This is a list of tools, websites, and resources that I use to find, research, buy, and manage my investment portfolio. It includes the brokerages I use, research websites, terminals, investment websites I frequent, and anything that helps me with my investment process. If it is not on the list, it’s because I don’t use it. Everything listed is what I currently use at some stage, from finding investment ideas, screening them, studying them, to buying them. This is not an endorsement to use a certain product.
β¬οΈ Downloadable PDF’s & Templates
TBA | I am currently working on creating various resources for my personal use. These resources include my own checklists, templates for thesis writing, and an Investment Philosophy guide which can help investors in planning and keeping themselves accountable. Once I have compiled all the downloadable resources, I will list them on this page. Additionally, I will also compile any useful free resources that I come across.
