Why Stoicism?
I chose to call it “The Stoic Investors” because Stoicism can be an excellent framework for creating stability, peace of mind, inner stillness, and meaning in your life.
As investors, having a Stoic approach can lead to tremendous success if we start with our minds. Investing and wealth creation are not just about intellect, but also about self-mastery over our behaviour.
Inner reflection and awareness of our behaviour and mindset is the most underrated edge we can have over others when it comes to making money. “Doing the HARD WORK” not just working hard.
To bear trials with a calm mind robs misfortune of its strength and burden.

The qualities of great investors extend far beyond where they studied. It is often due to self-discipline, patience, wisdom, and control over their emotions when it comes to money. Few investors can remain calm in both bull and bear markets nor stay the course decade after decade. Many of us let our emotions go unchecked, and we allow our minds to play tricks on us. That is why I have taken Ben Graham’s famous quote and rephrased it to “Investment is most intelligent when it is most Stoic like”.
To be a successful investor, it’s essential to have self-awareness, humility, and an honest look within to understand our own competence and limitations. Ego is a silent killer in investing, and it can lead to significant losses. I practice Stoic philosophy daily as it has been foundational to both my personal and professional life. I see many similarities between Stoicism and the virtues needed for self-mastery and becoming a better investor and wealth creator.
You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.

Although we will discuss a range of topics around using Stoic characteristics to make better investing, business, and financial decisions, it is not the foundation of this blog. Therefore, it won’t be center stage. I have chosen not to give Stoicism its page to avoid drawing attention away from the central theme, making money.
